Curtains disclaimer
Whilst we take every precaution and clean your curtains in the best way possible there are risks involved that are beyond our control. These are as follows:
Allow for shrinkage.
Around 5% of curtains cleaned will shrink. Shrinkage may occur because of the inherent nature of the fabric or because it was not completely preshrunk. In fact, most fabrics can shrink up to 4%, usually on the first clean. Curtain makers often provide a generous hem to allow for this possibility.
Allow for colour loss.
This is rare but can happen to around 1% of curtains.
Thermal may peel.
Peeling will happen to around 5% of thermal curtains and 0.5% of blackout curtains.
These drapes are particularly sensitive to sunlight which causes the rubber to perish and may lift or peel even under normal cleaning conditions. There is no way to determine whether thermodrapes will clean without the rubberised backing peeling off or sticking to itself, causing it to peel when the two surfaces are separated.
All curtain cleaning is carried out at your own risk. We will not accept claims for damages.
Kapiti Dry Cleaning and Laundry Services Ltd shall not be liable for:
-
Any shrinkage, discoloration or distortion as a result of washing / dry cleaning.
-
Any damage to curtains where the fabric had weakened due to age and usage. This is especially so for curtains exposed to spotlights, sunlight and chlorine fume, moisture and sea breeze.
-
Curtains with blackout or plastic/latex coating, as some coating may blister, peel, self-stick or dissolve.
-
Curtains made from lightweight, sheer fabric such as organza, silk, lace or day curtains. Such curtains are more affected by light exposure and have a shorter lifespan.
-
Double-layered curtains which normally come with a lightweight fabric sewn together with a heavy fabric. The heavier fabric might pull/drag the lightweight fabric causing distortion or the lighter fabric to tear during the washing/dry cleaning process.
